The 28th March 2022 saw the return of the Creative Oceanic Northern Ireland Wedding Awards 2022; the event held in the Europa Hotel, Belfast brought together over 350 wedding specialists from across Northern Ireland to celebrate and showcase their businesses in the glamorous awards ceremony.

It’s been a busy wedding season I’m pleased to report after what was a tough time for us all! And it’s not over yet, I’ve plenty more weddings this year and 2022 and 2023 are fast filling up. I can’t wait to create beautiful wedding flowers for them all.

Despite restrictions lifting for weddings here in Northern Ireland from the 24th May, we’re not quite back to ‘normal’ - guest numbers will be agreed on an individual basis after a risk assessment by the venue, so for many this may still be limited. But if Covid-19 has taught us anything, it’s that we can adapt and embrace the challenges.

One year on since the first lockdown, since the wedding industry largely closed and many couples had their wedding plans derailed. It was a disaster and for my business it resulted in a need to rapidly pivot and develop new services and products that would help keep things going. I hope you’ve enjoyed my handmade gift bouquets and luxury door wreaths!

It’s a confusing and unprecedented time, even more so for couples due to get married in the coming weeks and months. The levels of uncertainty for everyone has caused anxiety and distress, which is why it’s more important than ever to focus on the positivity and reasons why you are getting married in the first place.

It seems like forever since we had some straight up sunshine, but at last the mornings are getting brighter and the days longer. Spring is definitely on it’s way, and that means for those who are newly engaged it’s time to get properly into the planning stages of your wedding day.
