The 28th March 2022 saw the return of the Creative Oceanic Northern Ireland Wedding Awards 2022; the event held in the Europa Hotel, Belfast brought together over 350 wedding specialists from across Northern Ireland to celebrate and showcase their businesses in the glamorous awards ceremony.

David McConkey was delighted to win Wedding Florist of the Year 2022 for Co. Antrim. David has been creating one of a kind luxury wedding floristry for over 35 years and is very passionate when it comes to helping couples achieve their dream wedding day.

Before the award ceremony, finalists were chosen via public vote, proof of the popularity of David’s luxury wedding floristry. He was also the proud recipient of two Wedding Florist of the Year awards in 2018 and 2019.

But 2020 was a year none in the wedding industry will forget, in the face of weddings being cancelled overnight, David had to rapidly pivot and expand his floristry services into one of a kind luxury gift bouquets and door wreaths. He also provided private floristry classes for small numbers, creating a safe space, with a decadent lunch, for lots of laughs and people to catch up during the pandemic. As a result, his social media following continued to grow and when weddings were given the green light he was straight back into the leading the way with his luxury wedding floristry.

On winning Wedding Florist of the Year 2022 (Co. Antrim), David said, “Winning Wedding Florist of the Year has been very special, it recognises all the hard work over the last few years, it really means a lot.
